MNDF holds military display for public

The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has held a display of its Marine Corps, Coast Guard and Special Forces at an event held today on the occasion of its 121st anniversary.

At the Commander-in-Chief’s Force and Fleet Review event, MNDF displayed the tactics employed to rescue a group of Maldivians on a fishing boat hijacked by foreigners. Coast Guard vessels and helicopters were used in the display.

Commander-in-Chief, President Dr Mohamed Waheed Hassan Manik, Chief Justice Ahmed Faiz Hussain, senior officials of the government as well as members of the public were among the spectators of the event.
