EC to hold

The Elections Commission (EC) has decided to hold a ‘road event’ to collect information on the people included in the Male’ Municipality Special Registry.

The EC said that the road event will be held from 4:00 pm tomorrow until 10:00 pm on Saturday at Raalhugandu and on selected roads in Male’.

The purpose of the road event is to collect information on the people included in the Male’ Municipality Special Registry, in order to determine the electoral constituencies of Male’ prior to the Parliamentary Elections next year.

EC said that the road event will allow the commission to arrange for people included in the Male’ Municipality Special Registry to cast vote into a ballot box near their residence.

EC said that the commission will set up a stall in Raalhugandu from tomorrow until 10:00 pm on Saturday. People included in the Male’ Municipality Special Registry can visit the stall to fill in and submit the form to provide their information.

Several other services such as verifying the names on the list of voters for the Presidential Election, will also be provided at the road event.

EC has made an announcement urging people included in the Male’ Municipality Special Registry to inform their current address to the commission before 30 April.
