Faseeh resigns as Chairman of MTDC

Faseeh Zahir, who was appointed to the post of Chairman of Maldives Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) last year, has resigned from his post.

Sun Online has come to know that he tendered his resignation last week. Faseeh has not indicated a reason for his resignation.

An official of MTDC said that Faseeh resigned following a series of complications after the Tourism Ministry interfered in a disagreement between MTDC and the management of Club Faru, a resort presently being operated by MTDC.

Former Chairman of MTDC, Mohamed Rasheed also resigned in June 2012 after about one month of being appointed to the post.

The Board of Directors of MTDC is made up of MD Mohamed Matheen, Abdullah Ahmed, Ismail Mifrah, Abdullah Leeman Zahir, Zakariyya Hussain, Ahmed Shakir, Aishath Hussain Manik and Ali Mohamed.
