Managing Director of Amin Construction Abdullah Mohamed has been elected as the President of Maldives Association of Construction Industry (MACI).

At the Annual General Meeting of the association held at SHE Building last night, Abdullah Mohamed was the only contestant for the post of President of MACI. Abdullah Mohamed’s predecessor, Mohamed Janah Ali could not contest for the post this year as he has served as President of MACI for two years.

The present Vice Presidents of MACI, Alau Ali and Adnan Haleem were re-elected to this post. They were also the only contestants for this post.

Mohamed Jilwaz Jaufar was elected as the Treasurer.

Six people were elected to the Executive Board of MACI. They are Fayaz Mansoor, Hassan Shameem, Saudullah Hilmy, Ibrahim Mutthalib, Mohamed Saeed and Mohamed Janah.

The Annual Report, Financial Statements and the Budget for the upcoming year were passed at last night’s ceremony.

An address was delivered on behalf of former President of MACI Mohamed Janah, as he could not attend the meeting as he was out of the country. Mohamed Janah noted in his address that the construction industry becoming the second largest industry in the Maldives is a great advancement for MACI, and that he would continue to serve the association even though he could not contest for the post of president this year.
