The trial against former Male’ Area Commander Ibrahim Didi, regarding the illegal arrest of Chief Judge of Criminal Court Abdullah Mohamed, has been postponed.
An official of the Media Unit of the judiciary said that the trial was postponed following a request by Ibrahim Didi to delay the next session of the trial until after Thursday.
A session of the trial had been scheduled for 4.00 pm today.
The State presented several witnesses at the last session, after Ibrahim Didi denied the charges pressed by the State under article 81 of the Penal Code for arresting an innocent person.
The State has also pressed charges against former President Mohamed Nasheed, former Defence Minister Tholhath Ibrahim Kaleyfaan, former Chief of Defence Force Moosa Ali Jaleel, and Colonel Mohamed Ziyad.
