JSC representative at the Parliament and Maamigili MP Gasim Ibrahim said at a press conference held this afternoon that during the meeting, he requested the President to release Judge Abdulla immediately. The President, however dismissed the request by saying that this issue was not part of the meeting agenda.

“The first thing I said when I was given the chance to speak was to release the Chief Judge of Criminal Court Abdulla Mohamed. As soon as I said this, the reply was that that was not part of the meeting agenda. The President was very rude when he said this,” Gasim said.
