Police raid massage parlour, arrests 10 people

Police have raided a brothel being operated as a massage parlour located near UN building in Mahchangolhi tonight. They said 10 people have been arrested.

During a special operation, Poilice raided the massage parlor run under the name "Roama Beauty and Wellness Centre", around 21:35 and arrested four Maldivian men, four women from Thailand and two men from Bangladesh.

They said that all of the people arrested were caught in their nude while engaged in actions of sexual nature and that the Police had entered the parlour after obtaining a court warrant.

Police also said that their inspection of the parlour had revealed money in excess of MVR 13,000 and a large number of tools used for sexual activities, and that they also discovered materials related to the case from the parlour's office.

A large crowd gathered near the parlour while Police were conducting their operation. This is the first such massage parlour raided this year.
