Aslam appointed to Maldives Broadcasting Commission

President Dr. Mohamed Waheed Hassan Manik has appointed Mohamed Aslam of Haa Alif Dhiddhoo Aalia to the Maldives Broadcasting Commission yesterday.

Parliament passed to appoint Mohamed Aslam to the commission on its second session of the first term this year, with a majority of 59 votes.

Aslam was presented with his letter of appointment by the President at a ceremony held in the President’s Office yesterday, after when he went the Maldives Broadcasting Commission’s office to take over his responsibilities as commission member.

Aslam holds a master’s degree in the field of broadcasting media. He has been active in DhiTV as a presenter of news and current affairs programs for sometime, where he was also involved in a number of marketing initiatives by the channel. He has worked as a qualified secondary teacher at Ghiyasuddeen School and Dharumavantha School, and also as the principal of Haa Alif Atoll Education Centre.

A seat from the Maldives Broadcasting Commission was left vacant when Badru Naseer resigned from his positions as the President and member of the commission on 29th July 2012.
