Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) Managing Director Hamdhaan Shakeel has called for public cooperation to keep the FDC Towers area clean, after large piles of garbage were once again dumped near the residential blocks.

Residents have been raising concerns on social media over repeated waste dumping around the flats. Videos and photos circulating online show significant amounts of debris left in common areas, including a corridor leading to one of the tower entrances.

Former Heritage Ministry Director Shamoon Jaleel (Lucas Jalyl) shared a video showing a passageway blocked by garbage, captioned, “How do we get out??”

Hamdhaan wrote on X that the area had been cleaned on Saturday, but new waste was dumped again on Monday. He described such behaviour as an uncivilised act that poses health risks and goes against the country’s religious and cultural values.

He said FDC has removed the waste but will take action against those who dump garbage in violation of their housing agreements. Hamdhaan also thanked residents who dispose of bulk waste properly and in accordance with the rules.

According to him, maintaining a safe and clean living environment in the flats is only possible with the cooperation of all residents.

This is not the first time FDC has raised the issue. Hamdhaan previously warned that fines and other measures would be taken against residents who illegally dump waste in the second phase of the FDC flats.
