Youth gets 15-day remand for grabbing a police officer by the neck

Criminal Court has remanded a youth suspected of violence against a police officer to 15 days in police custody on Sunday.

The 27-year-old from HDh. Nolhivaranfaru was arrested on suspicion of obstruction of the duty of a police officer.

According to the remand order, the youth had allegedly threatened police officers and even grabbed an officer by the neck.

However, the youth, who has a prior criminal record, denied these allegations in court. 

Nevertheless, Criminal Court remanded the youth in custody at a custodial prison for 15 days.
