Police have issued a warning about phishing scams falsely offering MVR 30,000 in the name of Fenaka Corporation for completing online surveys.

In a Facebook post, the Police Anti-Scam Centre said scammers are operating fake websites impersonating Fenaka and other companies, claiming users can win cash prizes. Victims are asked to share the survey with friends, submit personal and banking details, and click suspicious links.

Police urged the public to:

  • Check website domains before entering personal information

  • Report suspicious links to authorities

  • Avoid sharing scam links on social media

“No legitimate company would offer large cash giveaways through such links,” police emphasized.

Fenaka Corporation also issued a statement confirming it had received reports of social media pages falsely claiming to offer subsidies. The company clarified that all financial transactions are conducted only through official channels.

Fenaka urged the public to remain vigilant and report any fraudulent links or calls to relevant authorities.

According to police statistics released in early December:

  • Over MVR 10 million was lost to scams last month

  • Only MVR 387,971 has been recovered

  • 80 cases of online business scams were reported

  • 12 cases involved scams through malicious links

Authorities continue to monitor and investigate scam networks targeting Maldivian users through impersonation and fake promotions.
