Pres. nominates ambassadors to Palestine, Jordan and 14 names for tax tribunal

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, on Monday, has nominated two individuals as non-resident ambassadors to two countries and Jordan, respectively, and 14 individuals as members of the Tax Appeal Tribunal.

The President, in a letter to Parliament Speaker Abdul Raheem Abdulla, nominated two individuals as non-resident ambassadors of Maldives to Palestine and Jordan. They are:

Dr. Ibrahim Zuhury as the non-resident ambassador of Maldives to Palestine

Dr. Hala Hameed as the non-resident ambassador of Maldives to Jordan.

The matter has been forwarded to Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Relations for review.

The President also nominated 14 individuals as members of the Tax Appeal Tribunal, with the tenure of five incumbent members set to expire on Saturday. The 14 nominees are:

  7. Hassan Zuhair Mohamed, G. Maavarulu, Male’
  8. Shaufa Ibrahim, Akiri Villa, Dh. Meedhoo
  9. Mohamed Waheed Ali, Dhafthar No: RS0495
  10. Mohamed Imthishal Ahmed, M. Maluvila Uthruburi
  11. Aminath Shadhiya, M. Pisthaage, Male’

In his letter, the President requested the Parliament to select five individuals for appointment as new members of the Tax Appeal Tribunal. The matter has been forwarded to the Judiciary Committee for review.
