Sun Siyam Media has signed an agreement to become the official media partner for four upcoming tournaments organized and endorsed by the Volleyball Association of Maldives (VAM).
The agreement was signed by Sun Siyam Media CEO Mohamed Asif (Mondhu) and VAM President Mohamed Latheef. Asif thanked the association for the opportunity, pledging to deliver high-quality coverage and help revive national interest in volleyball.
Under the partnership, Sun Siyam Media will provide coverage for:
Two international tournaments: the CAVA Women’s Nations Cup and the CAVA Champions League, featuring top teams from 14 Central Asian countries
Two domestic tournaments: the Mercantile Volleyball Championship, a corporate league, and the newly launched Raajje Super League, which allows one team from each island to participate via local councils
Latheef described the Super League as a grassroots initiative to unite the volleyball community across the Maldives. He said VAM aims to build it into a fan-driven national tournament.
The CAVA Champions League held last July marked Sun Siyam Media’s first live international sports coverage. Latheef praised the team’s dedication, noting that SS Media staff worked around the clock during the event. Asif promised even stronger coverage for the upcoming tournaments.
“Volleyball is one of the most popular sports in the Maldives,” Latheef said, urging stakeholders to support the tournaments’ success.
