Volleyball court opened at Champa Giri; tournament held in commemoration

A volleyball court was inaugurated at Champa Giri Romantic Island on Monday in celebration of which a volleyball tournament was held among staff.

The court was inaugurated by prominent businessman and Champa Brothers’ Chairperson Mohamed Moosa (Uchu) on Monday. A one-day volleyball tournament was held to commemorate the opening of the volleyball court.

Four female teams contested in the competition; DFC, Meeru Resort Staff Team, Kuredhoo Island Resort Staff Team and Champa Giri Romantic Island Staff Team.

DFC and Champa Giri teams contested in the finals which was won by DFC.

The winning team was offered a MVR 100,000 cash prize from Uchu.

Champa Giri Romantic Island is a private island being developed by Uchu. The island is mainly utilized for agriculture.

A volleyball court was developed on the island for recreational purposes of its staff.
