President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has declared November 2 a public holiday, creating a four-day-long Victory Day holiday.
November 3 is marked annually in the Maldives as Victory Day, in commemoration of the foiled 1988 terror attack.
In a statement on Thursday morning, the President’s Office announced that President Muizzu has decreed that government offices will be closed on November 2.
The decision creates a four-week holiday for government employees, as November 2 falls between the weekend and Victory Day.
