Three members of Hdh. Naivaadhoo council have joined Maldives Development Alliance (MDA), making MDA the party that holds majority in the council.
Naivaadhoo council members joined MDA last Wednesday, as part of MDA’s visits to the atolls to increase membership.
The council members who joined MDA are Council Vice President Ali Aslam, Council Member Hassan Waheed and Council Member Mohamed Ali. They were all elected to the council under Dhivehi Rayyithunge Party (DRP) ticket.
After joining MDA, Naivaadhoo Council Vice President Ali Aslam told Sun Online in an interview yesterday that he greatly supports MDA’s development ideas, and that the country currently needs a party that has a leadership with strong ideas. He said that MDA Leader Ahmed Siyam Mohamed is a leader who has long-term developmental plans, and that Siyam has proved this to the people.
Aslam further expressed confidence that support for MDA will increase in the future, and said that efforts will be made to ensure that this is achieved.
