The 42nd Annual General Meeting and Conference of the Asian Bankers Association (ABA) is scheduled to take place in the Maldives next year. This marks the second time since 2018 that the Maldives will host the ABA AGM and Conference.

Bank of Maldives (BML) stated that next year's conference will gather financial and banking leaders to deliberate on issues, opportunities within the sector, and the future trajectory of the financial industry.

Mohammed Shareef, CEO and Managing Director of BML, was recently appointed as the Vice Chairman of the ABA during the association's 41st Conference, held in Bhutan on Monday and Tuesday.

In response, Shareef commented, "Maldives is honored to host the 42nd ABA Conference as it presents a significant opportunity to showcase Maldives’ thriving financial sector to the international community and foster greater engagement with the outside world."

The bank further detailed that the ABA’s 42nd conference will bring together CEOs, executives, and banking industry experts from the association’s member countries. The event will feature discussions, workshops, and networking sessions centered on key topics pertinent to the financial and banking sectors.
