The Housing Development Corporation (HDC) announced on Monday its decision to lease five stalls in the first phase of the Hulhumale local market, known as Rashu Maarukeytu.

The HDC has opened the application process for interested parties to lease these stalls, which are located at the island market near the Hulhumale Ferry Terminal. The corporation stated that the stalls will be leased through a draw among eligible applicants.

Applications will be accepted from 8:30 AM on Tuesday until 3:30 PM on the 23rd of this month. The draw for eligible applicants is scheduled for October 16th at 10:00 AM. Application forms are available on the HDC's official website.

The island market was established to provide residents and visitors to Hulhumale with accessible and affordable locally grown fruits, vegetables, and local food and fish products. Developed over six years ago, the market features 37 dry stalls and 20 wet stalls, each spanning 69.45 acres. The monthly rent for each stall is MVR 3,500.
