The Civil Service Commission (CSC) announced on Sunday the repeal of a change that allowed the inclusion of employment time from other government agencies or companies when calculating the length of civil service.

The CSC had previously decided to consider the duration of employment at the time of retirement, accounting for employment in government-owned companies and other state entities. Consequently, the CSC had advised employees with such job records to update the experience section of their profiles.

In an announcement made on Sunday, the Commission stated that the former circular has now been canceled. The CSC cited "consultation with other government agencies" as the reason for this decision, though no further details were provided.

In related news, President Mohamed Nasih, along with two other members, was reinstated to the Civil Service Commission on Sunday.

The terms of office for Nasih, Mohamed Farsath, and Fathimath Shareef, who were previously on the CSC, expired on September 3. The President had submitted six names, including Nasih's, to the Parliament on the 17th of this month for consideration.

The newly appointed commission members, in addition to Nasih, include Dr. Hussain Faiz and Dr. Dheeba Moosa.
