Pickup flips in dangerous accident on highway

A pickup flipped in a dangerous accident on the highway linked to Sinamale’ Bridge connecting Male’ and Hulhumale’.

Maldives Police Service reported that a pickup truck was involved in an accident on the highway after one of its tires burst, causing the driver to lose control and crash into the road dividers.

In addition to hitting the dividers, the pickup also collided with a nearby car. However, police noted that the car recorded only minor damage.

No one, including the driver of the pickup, was injured in the accident.

However, the pickup recorded significant damage in the accident.

Police said efforts are underway to remove the pickup from the premises.

The accident is also under further investigation by the authority.

Notably, the dividers that the pickup crashed into were also damaged.

Accidents remain alarmingly common, especially in Male’ area. Some accidents have resulted in fatalities and serious injuries to those involved.
