Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mahudhy Imad has been dismissed from office.
Mahudhy told Sun that the President’s Office sent him a letter today informing him of his dismissal. He said that the reason for dismissal was not specified.
The president has also dissolved the 8 member MPL board of directors last week.
The members of the 8 member board included; Chief Executive and Managing Director of the Board Mahudhy Imad, Mohamed Shiyam of H. Thema, Abdul Matheen Ahmed of Shaviyani Komandoo Hilyaleege, Ibrahim Zaki (Hazash Zaki), Riyaz of Seenu Hulhudhoo, Ahmed Nasir of Meemu Meedhuffaru, Hussain Arif Dhaftharu and Mohamed Hashim.
President dissolved the MPL board after the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) advised him to dismiss Mohamed Shiyam from the board in relation to a case where Shiyam had refused to share certain documents need for a commission investigation.
Reports have also circulated in the media that the board had declared a salary between MVR 120,000 to MVR 130,000 for the Managing Director of the board Mahudhy Imad.
