Under the Bank of Maldives (BML) ‘Mulhi Raajje ah BML ATM’ initiative, launched in 2024, the bank has achieved its goal of installing ATM services in all residential islands in Haa Dhaalu Atoll with the opening of the unit in H.Dh. Kumundhoo on Wednesday.

BML stated that the installation of ATMs will provide easy access to financial services for the people of the atoll.

The ceremony held on Wednesday to open the ATM unit in Kumundhoo was attended by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu alongside his ministers, BML Chairman Ahmed Ali Habeeb, CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef, and other senior officials.

Wednesday saw ATM services being launched in two islands: Kumundhoo and Kurinbi.

Speaking at the ceremony in Kumundhoo, Shareef said that with the launch of ATM services in the island, ATM services have now been installed in all the islands in nine atolls of Maldives.

"This is a pleasure for us. With each ATM, we are bringing banking services as close as possible to communities. Our goal is to provide easy access to financial services for every individual and every community," Shareef explained.

With a nationwide banking plan, BML currently has 42 branches and 156 self-service banking centers in 20 atolls.
