Government to discontinue including announcements, advertisements in printed gazette

The President’s Office has said that the government has decided to discontinue printing its gazette for announcements and advertisements. This excludes the gazette for laws, general regulations and policies.

An official of the President’s Office said that the purpose of this decision is to reduce costs, and that from 1 March onwards, government announcements and notifications will be published online.

The President’s Office presently also sends only one copy of the gazette to institutions.

Meanwhile, the President’s Office has made an announcement in search of a group that can provide the service of printing the gazette to publish laws, general regulations and policies from 1 March. Interested groups have been asked to clarify information and propose a price for the service to the President’s Office before 26 February.

The government started printing its gazette inclusive of all its announcements and advertisements in 2010.
