HDh. Kulhudhuffushi Police Station: Man fined by MVR 26,800 fine for submitting bid containing fake document.
A man has been fined after it was discovered that he submitted a bid containing a fake document to win a contract announced by HDh. Kulhudhuffudhi Council.
The bid was submitted in response an announcement made by Kulhudhuffushi Council at the end of 2020, seeking a party to supply a filing rack and a filing cupboard to the Council.
According to the case report, the state prosecuted Adam Shareef, Red Pearl, Kulhudhuffushi, in connection to the case.
He was charged with referring to a fake document after submitting fake tax clearing report for Fun Ilaa Maldives Private Limited, a company where he is the majority shareholder, for the aforesaid bid.
Adam Shareef pleaded guilty in the case and entered into a plea agreement with the prosecution.
If Adam Shareef had not entered into the plea agreement, he would have faced a one year, seven months and six days prison sentence.
According to the plea agreement executed with the Prosecutor General’s Office (PG Office), Adam Shareef was fined by MVR 26,8000 instead. Kulhudhuffushi Magistrate Court delivered the ruling in the case in reference to the plea agreement this month.
