A police vehicle was set on fire last night.
Police have said that the car belonged to the Police Family and Child Protection Department. They said that investigations show that the car was set on fire around 3:30 am last night while parked on the parking the lot near the Police Family and Child Protection Department, which is located near Thaajuddheen School.
Police said that nobody was injured in the incident and added that they are currently working on finding the people who set the car on fire.
Police said that they are not yet aware of the purpose of the action. The car had sustained large damages, including to its cover near its engine.
Streets of Male’ are frenzied these days as MDP is staging continuous protests. Last Friday night had seen confrontations between protesters and the police.
