Man arrested with drugs after panicked behavior alerts police

A young man was arrested with drugs from Hulhumale’ on early Tuesday, after his panicked behavior at the sight of police officers prompted the police to search him.

Mohamed Alim, 22, Funamaage, ADh. Maamigili, was arrested at around 12:41 am on Tuesday, from the ground floor parking zone of the Vinares 7 apartment complex located in Hulhumale’ Phase II.

According to the police, Alim had entered the parking zone on a motorcycle and had hurriedly parked the vehicle and attempted to leave after he caught sight of police.

Officers found his behavior suspicious, and stopped and searched him.

He was taken into custody after the officers found a 259-gram rubber packet in a bag he was carrying, which the police believe to contain drugs.

The case is under investigation by the Hulhumale’ Phase II Police Station.
