‘2ofus’ praised by singer Abhijeet after Anu Malik

Maldivian band, ‘2ofus’ was sung high praises by top Indian singer, Abhijeet Bhattacharya, for their latest performance in ‘Battle of Bands International’.

Maldivian band ‘2ofus’ is among the breakout stars among the participants of ‘Battle of Bands International’, a reality show by India’s state-owned public television broadcaster, Doordarshan, where incredible bands from all over the world compete in a music-off.

The band garnered high praise for its second performance in the show. As such, not only the audience but also the judges eagerly awaited their next performance.

‘2ofus’ delivered a performance that met expectations, capturing the hearts of the audience and the judges with their rendition of the classic Hindi song ‘Badan Pe Sitare Lapete Huye’.

Originally released in 1969, the song is from the film Prince and was sung by the legendary Mohammad Rafi.

Upon the conclusion of their performance, ‘2ofus’ was sung high praises by top Indian singer, Abhijeet Bhattacharya, who appeared on the episode as a guest.

In this regard, Abhijeet said ‘2ofus’ has once again delivered a perfect performance, adding it is difficult to believe a performance of such high caliber and independence has been showcased on a local platform.

Abhijeet, noting that ‘2ofus’ are guests in the country, said their performances would be appreciated regardless of how they are presented. He also expressed his affection for all the members of the band.

The top Indian singer also gifted a gold necklace to Ahmed Adhuham, the singer of the band, as a token of respect, recognizing his exceptional talent.

Shraddha Pandit, another prominent singer from India who is a judge on the show, also praised the exceptional talent showcased by ‘2ofus’ during the show. Shraddha also pointed out that the band was always well-prepared for their performances.

Many Maldivians have also praised the performances of ‘2ofus’ in the show, describing it as an honor for the country. 

‘Battle of the Bands’ was initially targeted towards Indian bands. The international edition of the show was prompted by the phenomenal success of the local edition.

Apart from Maldives, bands from Afghanistan, Mauritius, Tajikistan, Singapore, Russia, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Spain and the UK are participating in the show.
