Revenue collection 5.9 percent less than forecast

The revenue collected by Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) for January 2013 is 5.9 percent less than forecast.

The Monthly Revenue Collection Report published by MIRA states that in January 2013, it collected MVR 1.1 billion and $30.2 million as revenue, which is 5.9 percent less than the forecast amount.

The amount is however 45 percent more than revenue collected in January 2012, which was MVR 723.6 million.

The report shows that in January 2013, MIRA collected MVR 37,967,709 as Tourism Land Rent, MVR 71,109,894 as Tourism Tax, MVR 536.1 million as BPT, and MVR 297.4 million as GST.
