Dead body found near Thulhaagiri Resort

A dead body has been found near Thulhaagiri Resort.

The police said that the dead body was found this afternoon on the south western side of Thulhaagiri Island Resort, and that they are presently working on identifying the body.

Police said that the dead person when found was wearing a ‘Cressi’ blue wetsuit and ‘Mares’ fins.

A dead body was also discovered yesterday in the sea between Vilimale’ and Gulhifalhu. The police have not provided any details on that discovery, which came at a time when police were carrying out a search operation for a tourist that fell into the sea from a German yacht a few days ago.

A dead body was also found in an uninhabited island called Ga. Kun’buru earlier this month. It is believed that the dead person was one of the people who were lost when a Sri Lankan boat capsized last year. Four people involved in that incident were never found.
