Prosecutor General’s Office (PG) has said that they have no intention of withdrawing former president Mohamed Nasheed’s case, regarding the enforced disappearance of Criminal Court judge Abdulla Mohamed.
With regard to a letter submitted by Nasheed’s supporters to the PG urging them to withdraw Nasheed’s case, an official from the PG said that different sources from MDP have requested for the withdrawal of the case, but said that they are not considering its withdrawal.
“We have no intention of withdrawing Nasheed’s case. It is not something that is being considered. We are currently in the process of replying to those who have made those requests,” said the PG official.
The hearing for the case, which was scheduled for yesterday, was cancelled as Nasheed failed attend court.
