Teen arrested from Male’ restaurant with over one kilo in drugs

A teenager was arrested from a restaurant in Male’ City on Friday with over one kilo in drugs.

The police said on Sunday that Mohamed Kiyan Ahmed Nazim, 19, Ma. Hiythalavilla, K. Male’, was detained in an operation conducted based on information received by the Counter-Narcotics Intelligence.

The police arrested Kiyan from the restaurant and found over one kilo in drugs during a search of his person.

Kiyan was presented before the Criminal Court on Saturday.

According to police, the court remanded him in custody of the police for 15 days.

The operation that led to Kiyan’s arrest was conducted by the Gang Crime Enforcement with support from Drug Enforcement.

The case is under further investigation by the police.
