President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, citing the current state of Rasfannu and Sultan Park as saddening, has pledged to restore their beauty and charm of these two locations and make them even more complete.

The President, First Lady Sajidha Mohamed and their youngest child visited Rasfannu this morning. During the visit, the President spoke with members of the general public who were present in the area at the time.

In a post on X following his visit, President Muizzu said the current state of both Rasfannu and Sultan Park, which are getting worn down, was saddening.

The President described both locations as places that bring happiness and joy to the residents of Male’, who live in an overwhelmingly crowded city.

As such, he pledged to Male’ residents that his administration would undertake special efforts to restore the beauty and charm of these two locations and make them even more complete.

Rasfannu and Sultan Park were developed during former president Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayyoom’s administration. The projects had proceeded under the oversight of President Muizzu, who had been serving as the Housing Minister during the administration.

Male residents have appreciated both locations as spots where they can unwind outdoors and allow children to play. However, they have both become extremely worn down due to failure to properly maintain them. This remains a concern of Male’ residents.
