Three people including a minor arrested for attempted violence

Maldives Police Service states they have arrested three people, including a minor, for attempted violence.

In a message to the media on Sunday, Police said three people, including a minor, were arrested last night from Dhonhuraa Golhi in Violet Magu, Male’ City, at approximately 20:17pm, for attempted violence.

No further details have been provided by the Police, including the identity of the suspects.

Notably, Police also stopped and arrested two people from the highway last night, suspected to be fleeing after attacking someone with an axe in Hulhumale’.

Police, in a message to the media on Sunday morning, said a report was made at approximately 23:35pm last night after an individual, who waiting on the west side Rehendhi Turf Stadium in Boaganvilla Magu at Hulhumale’, was attacked by two people on a motorbike.

The person injured in the attack has been discharged after treatment at Hulhumale’ Hospital. The Police said they have been informed that the attack was carried out using an axe.

They detailed that the two suspects were stopped and arrested from the highway while fleeing to Male’. The weapon used to carry out the attack and a knife were also discovered in the area.

A video of the two suspects being arrested is viral on social media at present.
