Dhiraagu signs as digital partner of ‘Across Maldives’ world record dive event

Dhiraagu has partnered with partnered with Ocean 6|50, a non-profit organization, to become the exclusive digital partner of “Across Maldives” world record dive attempt.

Shafraz Naseem, a seasoned diver and holder of the Asian record for the longest scuba dive, lasting 50 hours in 2022, now embarks on his most ambitious venture yet, the Across Maldives project.

This groundbreaking journey will take him across the entire Maldivian archipelago, from the northernmost to the southernmost atolls.

The expedition promises a thrilling blend of exploration, adventure, and conservation, with the goal of highlighting the breathtaking beauty and ecological significance of the Maldives’ marine ecosystems to a global audience.

Additionally, the project will gather valuable data on the impacts of climate change on the environment.

The event is set to unfold in two phases over the next two years. Phase I, the Male’ region world record attempt, will take place in February 2025.

During this phase, Shafraz and his team will attempt to undertake a single dive from Hulhumale’ to Male’, covering at least 14 kilometers underwater.

This ambitious endeavor aims to set a new world record while drawing global attention.

Phase II will feature the main event, where Shafraz will attempt to dive across the entire Maldivian archipelago, covering 460 kilometers over the course of a month.
