Parliament unanimously approves Moomina as HRCM’s vice president

Parliament, on Monday, has unanimously approved the appointment of Moomina Waheed as the vice president of the Human Rights Commission of Maldives (HRCM).

A new vice president is being appointed to HRCM following the resignation of Dr. Ahmed Adham Abdulla who previously held the post.

A vote was taken at Monday’s parliamentary sitting regarding the appointment of Moomina for the post. She received approval with the unanimous votes of all 69 MPs in attendance.

Moomina was appointed a member of HRCM in 2020.

Apart Moomina, the incumbent members of HRCM are: President Mariyam Muna and members Aminath Shifaath Abdul Razzaq, Samaau Ahmed Najeeb and Ismail Habeeb.
