The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives) has hosted the ‘Maldives Mahautsav’ in collaboration with Pickyourtrail from January 11 to 12, 2025 to boost Indian arrivals.
The Maldives Carnival 2025 was held at the Ambience Mall in Gurgaon, India which was officially inaugurated by the Maldives High Commissioner to India, Aishath Azeema.
The two-day event featured interactive activities and immersive experiences showcasing the Maldives’ unparalleled experiences available for the visitors.
The carnival featured a total of 17 resort booths where visitors were provided with information on premium resort offerings and other amenities available in the Maldivian hospitality scene. Attendees were able to engage in various activities designed to bring the Maldives experience to life in India.
The event was aimed at connecting Indian travellers with the beauty and luxury of the Maldives, and attracting Indian travellers by offering ideal opportunities for honeymoons, destination weddings, and other memorable getaways.
A top source market for three consecutive years, from 2020 to 2023, India slipped to sixth rank last year following diplomatic tensions between the India and the Maldives in light of denigrating remarks made against Prime Minister Narendra Modi by some high-ranking Maldivian government officials.
After a series of attempts of reconciliation, the relations between both countries have mended.
