The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives) has announced a major promotional campaign in Germany ahead of the ITB Berlin 2025 travel trade event.

MMPRC has announced a taxi campaign, which features the wrapping of 200 taxis in Berlin, as part of the participation in this year’s ITB Berlin fair, and touted as one of the largest outdoor initiatives ever undertaken by the Maldives tourism board.

The taxi campaign will run for five weeks, from February 7th to March 13th, strategically coinciding with both the Berlinale (Berlin International Film Festival) and the ITB Berlin fair. These events are expected to attract over 600,000 attendees.

Besides the addition of taxis, the campaign will feature prominent billboards at the Berlinale, targeting film enthusiasts and international visitors.

The outdoor campaign is designed to boost Maldives’ brand visibility and further elevate the appeal of the island nation’s tourism industry to German travelers.

Additional to this campaign, MMPRC will also engage with the travel trade media through various activities at the ITB Berlin event this year, including seminars and panel discussions on industry-relevant topics, and participate in IMM Germany, which is a dedicated event for media and journalists.

Germany remains among the top five tourist source markets to the Maldives consistently.
