The Health Ministry on Thursday launched the tenth volume of the Maldives Health Research Bulletin – an annual bulletin that enables health professionals, public and academia to view recent health research in a consolidated platform.
The research bulletin was launched by Health Minister Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim in a ceremony held at the Health Ministry headquarters on Thursday morning.
According to the Health Ministry, the bulletin serves to fulfill three key roles. They are:
Providing a common platform for students, researchers and other stakeholders to gain easy access to health research materials relevant to Maldivian context;
Providing technical support to students and researchers by providing information related to existing research as well as by highlighting health research priority areas;
And, ensuring research is conducted in line with national health research priority areas in accordance with Maldivian legislation and internationally accepted standards.
According to the Health Ministry, the latest bulletin includes seven abstracts of completed research, including on the health of mothers and children, communicable diseases, and mental health.
The bulletin also includes a list of newly approved and ongoing research projects, as well as an overview of the National Health Research Council and health research priority areas for 2022-2025.
