Faxy’s Hijama Clinic in Hulhumale’ was registered by the Health Ministry as a health facility earlier this week – months after it was shut down providing unlicensed hijama or cupping services.

Faxy’s Hijama, owned by Fazeela Usman, was shut down by the Health Ministry on September 24, 2024, following repeated warnings to register with the ministry to provide hijama services.

In a post via the clinic’s official Facebook page on Wednesday morning, Fazeela shared a photo of the facility’s registration certificate.

According to the certificate, Faxy’s Hijama was registered with the Health Ministry on Sunday.

Fazeela wrote that while the clinic has been registered as a health facility, she still needs an operating license to reopen the clinic.

“I continue to work tirelessly to get the license. In Sha Allah, I am trying to resume services within one month’s time,” she said.

She added that she has also filed a lawsuit over the decision by the Maldives Allied Health Council to reject a hijama course she completed in the United Kingdom.
