Pres. participates in roundtable discussions with Estonian Digital Advisory Council

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has participated in a roundtable discussion with the Estonian Digital Advisory Council to the President of Estonia during which the Maldivian delegation, joined by representatives from the tech community, delved into Estonia's impressive journey of digital transformation.

The meeting was held at the PoCo Pop and Contemporary Art Museum in Tallinn. 

During the discussions, the President shared his administration’s vision for a digital Maldives, emphasizing accessibility, sustainability, and resilience. In this trajectory, he emphasized the aim of building a digital-first, citizen-centered government that empowers every Maldivian with technology, no matter where they are located.

Estonian President Dr. Alar Karis highlighted Estonia’s achievements in transformative digital progress and urged collaboration with the Maldives to drive innovation. He stressed the importance of working together to build a more advanced and sustainable future through shared knowledge and innovative solutions.

Members of the Estonian Digital Advisory Council emphasized the crucial role of the private sector in developing infrastructure and advancing key areas of digital growth. They also highlighted the importance of encouraging STEM education and logical thinking from an early age to foster innovation.

The council expressed their readiness to support the Maldives by sharing expertise, redesigning services, and providing guidance to help with the country’s digital transformation.

Discussions centered on assessing the Maldives’ current situation and identifying features and strategies that could be adapted to advance the country’s digital development.

Following the meeting, President Muizzu toured the PoCo Pop And Contemporary Art Museum and the Estonian IT visionary Linnar Viik provided a detailed briefing on the museum’s collection and artwork.
