MNDF has disclosed the location of Chief Judge of Criminal Court Abdulla Mohamed, indicating that he is in K. Girifushi.
Nearly 48 hours had passed before MNDF disclosed any official information regarding the arrest of Judge Abdulla.
They said that an MNDF Team visited Judge Abdulla’s residence at around 9.15 tonight.
The family has been informed that they have the possibility to send belongings and other things to Judge Abdulla, informs MNDF. They further said that his wife has been informed that he is in good health.
MNDF also said that Judge Abdulla was given the opportunity to make a phone call on the night he was taken to Girifushi, following which he made a call. Tonight, his wife was informed of how she can reach him on the phone. However, Judge Abdulla refused to speak when called.
The MNDF Team was given some of Judge Abdulla’s belongings by the family, to be handed over to him. These possessions will be handed over to the Judge sometime tonight, according to MNDF.
The Supreme Court has ordered the immediate release of Judge Abdulla, who was arrested by a Military Force Team while he was at home. High Court has issued an order for his release as well.
Prosecutor General Ahmed Muiz has said that the Chief Judge’s arrest was made against the law, and that a case will be filed against those involved.
