Capsized fishing boat found outside Ga. Villingili

A capsized fishing boat has been found outside Ga. Villingili.

Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) said that information had been received that a Sri Lankan fishing boat had been found at Vaarehaa Kandu about 43 miles away from Ga. Villingili, and that the Coast Guard has commenced operations in response to this information.

MNDF said that the boat was found by ‘Seahorse’ dhoni which was out fishing from Ga. Kan’duhulhudhoo, and that the boat has now been towed to Ga. Kooddoo by the dhoni.

MNDF cited the dhoni captain and said that no people were found near the capsized boat.
