Ufuriya fire: One provided temporary housing

One individual has been provided temporary housing following the fire that broke out on the sixth floor of G. Ufuriya, where an outlet of ‘Ihusaan Fihaara’ is located.

According to Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF), the fire, which started around 11:27pm last night, was brought under control by approximately 12:00am. Photos show that the apartment where the fire broke out recorded substantial damage in the incident.

However, no one was injured in the incident.

National Disaster Management Authority (NMDA), on Tuesday, revealed that one of the individuals residing at the apartment appealed for temporary housing.

As such, the authority said the individual was provided temporary housing and meals for the period of a day.

Notably, the Maldivian capital recorded a huge fire late last year that saw a building housing three government ministries burned down beyond use.
