Maldivian Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Khaleel has traveled to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on an official visit on Saturday.
The Minister is undertaking the visit at the invitation of UAE’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
During this visit, Minister Khaleel will engage in high-level discussions with his UAE counterpart to enhance bilateral relations, review the broad spectrum of bilateral cooperation, and explore avenues for future cooperation.
The Minister will also hold meetings with other dignitaries of the UAE government to explore collaborative initiatives, focusing on fostering partnerships and advancing mutual interests.
Minister Khaleel is accompanied by Ambassador-at-Large Abdullah Hameed and Joint Secretary at Foreign Ministry Mariyam Reesha during this trip.
Maldivian Foreign Ministry said the visit reflects the enduring bilateral relationship between the Maldives and the UAE and highlights shared aspirations for development, innovation and prosperity.
Notably, Minister Khaleel traveled to UAE after concluding a three-day official visit to neighboring India during which the High Impact Community Development Projects (HICDP) MoU was signed, launching the Third Phase of project-based cooperation aimed at directly benefiting people at the grassroots level.
