President extends condolence to Azerbaijan over tragic plane crash

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu on Wednesday has sent a message of condolence to the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Heydar oglu Aliyev following the tragic plane crash near Aktau.

President Muizzu expressed deep sadness and shock upon learning the incident, which resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries.

In his message, the president extended heartfelt condolences to the government and the people of Azerbaijan. He expressed deep sympathy particularly for the survivors as they navigate the aftermath of this tragic event.

He sent best wishes for the success of the recovery efforts currently underway.

The Azerbaijan Airlines flight carrying 67 people crashed in Kazakhstan while it was en route from Azerbaijan to Russia.

Kazakhstan transport ministry later confirmed authorities rescued 27 people, including two children and all were being treated at a nearby hospital.

Details of the fatalities and the injuries have not been shared by any authority so far, while none of the countries associated to the incident have made any comments indicating the reason for this crash.

Meanwhile, the Russia aviation authority said it received report implying the pilot had attempted to land the plane after a bird crashed into one of the propellers.
