Former finance minister Dr. Mohamed Shafeeq has been appointed as a board director at the Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC).
Information published on the Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB)’s website shows Shafeeq was appointed to the HDFC’s board on December 2.
Shafeeq had previously served senior roles at the HDFC, including as the corporation’s chief financial officer (CFO) from 2021 to 2023.
Shafeeq had been appointed as the finance minister on November 17, 2023 as part of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s original cabinet. But he resigned on September 30 during a major cabinet reshuffle.
