Maldives Metrological Service (Met Office) has forecasted nationwide rain in the Maldives over the next three days.
An official from Met Office told Sun that the prevailing days account for transitional period between the two monsoons as a result of which rain can be expected.
Met Office has issued a yellow alert from Baa Atoll to Vaavau Atoll until 13:00pm this afternoon warning of torrential rain and thunderstorms with gust winds of 45 miles per hour and rough seas in the region.
A white alert is also in effect from Vaavu Atoll to Addu City until 13:00pm. The region can expect heavy rain and thunderstorms during this period.
Heavy rain on Monday morning saw the roads of Maldivian capital, Male' City, flooded.
