Kooddoo increases purchasing price of fish

Kooddoo Fisheries Maldives Limited has increased the price of purchase of fish by MVR 500 per ton, both from its main station and collector vessels.

Kooddoo said that from today onwards, the company purchases iced skip jack tuna exceeding 0.5 kg, at a price of MVR 22.50 per kg, and iced yellow fin tuna exceeding 12 kg, at a price of MVR 25.50 per kg. The company said that the price for non-iced skip jack tuna exceeding 0.5 kg will be purchased at MVR 20.50 per kg, and non-iced yellow fin tuna exceeding 12 kg will be bought at MVR 23.50 per kg.

Kooddoo said that they have increased their purchasing price because even though this time of the year is good fishing season, the company has experienced a decrease in supply and thus, to encourage the fisherman to take to sea.
