Assistant Commissioner of Police Ahmed Shifan has been transferred from his position as head of the Police Commissioner’s Office to the head of Service Development Directorate.

Shifan, who also serves as the chief police spokesperson, was transferred on Monday. However, the police did not disclose a reason for the change.

A police official told Sun on Tuesday that Shifan was replaced as head of the Police Commissioner’s Office by Assistant Commissioner of Police Moosa Ali.

The police said the changes were part of “routine changes” within the police force.

Shifan was promoted to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police in June. He previously served as the Head of National College of Policing and Law Enforcement and Head of Male’ City Police.
