Cases on secret voting and dismissal of Fahmy scheduled at Supreme Court

The Supreme Court has scheduled the case regarding the parliament’s passing of establishing secret voting on no-confidence motions against the president and ministers, and the case regarding the dismissal of Civil Service Commission (CSC) member Mohamed Fahmy Hassan.

The case on secret voting has been scheduled for Thursday, while the case on Fahmy’s dismissal has been scheduled for Wednesday.

The case on the parliament’s passing of establishing secret voting was filed to Supreme Court by PPM Council Member Ahmed Siddeeq of Aisaadharuge, Gdh. Fiyori, and PPM lead activist Ibrahim Hussain of Dhaftharu No. 3569. The lawyer for the case is Mohamed Waheed Ibrahim.

The Supreme Court has issued an order upon the parliament, indicating that secret voting shall not be conducted until the court makes a decision on the case.

The case on the dismissal of Fahmy, claiming that the dismissal was against the law, was filed to Supreme Court by Fahmy.

Supreme Court has issued an order upon the relevant authorities, indicating that no work shall be done on appointing a person to the vacant post of CSC member until the court makes a decision on the case.

This case was scheduled previously as well, but cancelled due to a judge having been taken ill.
